How fees work
Insurance we work with
Hearth is out of network, so we don't bill insurance companies directly. Some plans pay back part of the cost of a session; your plan can tell you what it covers.
Not in network with any plan
We don't bill Medicare or Medicaid (Medi-Cal)
If you pay yourself
You pay for each session at the time of the session. Your fee is given to you in writing before you start, and you can ask about a reduced-fee spot when we talk.
HSA and FSA cards are welcome
Please give 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule
Receipts for reimbursement
Each month we can send you an itemized receipt (a superbill) to submit to your plan. It carries a diagnosis code, which your insurer will see, and reimbursement is not guaranteed.
An estimate in advance
If you pay without insurance, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate of the expected cost before care begins. If a bill comes to $400 or more above the estimate, you can dispute it. The estimate is not a contract.
Checking your benefits
Before your first session, call the number on your insurance card and ask what your plan pays back for out-of-network outpatient mental health care. We can tell you what to ask.
