Crisis and resources
Hearth Counseling isn't a crisis service. This website and our voicemail aren't monitored around the clock, so please don't use them for anything urgent.
If you are in crisis
Call or text 988, the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, any time. If you or someone else is in danger, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.
If you are worried about someone else
You can call or text 988 for yourself or for someone you are worried about. If the person is in immediate danger, call 911.
Between sessions
Dr. Hairston returns messages during office hours. If you are worried about how you feel between sessions, bring it to your next session and make a plan together.
What Hearth Counseling does not do
Dr. Hairston is a psychologist. She doesn't prescribe medication, give medical advice or write reports for courts, and the practice can't respond in an emergency. For any of these, start with your doctor or the emergency room.
