The story behind Hearth
Hearth is a small private practice in San Francisco. The idea is simple: a therapy room should feel like the room in a home where people end up gathering, warm and unhurried, with space for more than one person.
The practice is for Black couples and families, and for individuals who want to be heard without having to translate. Many of us hold up other people, and the expectations that come with being the one everyone leans on are welcome here.
Sessions are 50 minutes for individuals and about 80 for couples and families, in person or by video for people in California, where I am licensed.

My approach
How I work
Therapy isn't one-size-fits-all. Here is how I think about the work we do together.
- 01
Step 1: A relationship first
Everything starts with trust. I want you to feel heard enough to be honest, and I want to earn that.
- 02
Step 2: Curiosity over judgment
We look at your patterns and struggles with curiosity, not criticism. Understanding why you do what you do is often where change begins.
- 03
Step 3: Body and mind together
I use mindfulness and attention to the body alongside talk therapy, and I explain each before we try it.
- 04
Step 4: Your goals set the end point
You decide what you want from this, and we talk regularly about whether to space sessions out or stop.
What you can expect from me
A few plain commitments.
Respect
Your time, your story and your decisions are yours.
Honesty
I tell you what I think is going on, and I welcome it when you disagree.
Privacy
What you say stays private, except where the law says otherwise. I explain those limits at the start.
