“I didn't have to explain where I was coming from. I felt listened to from the first ten minutes.”
Therapy for Black couples and families
A private practice in San Francisco, with sessions in person or by video for people in California. Start with a short call to see whether we fit.

A room that feels like home
I'm Dr. Natasha Hairston, a licensed psychologist in California. I see individuals, and couples and families of adults, in person in San Francisco and by video.
Many people arrive carrying a lot for a lot of other people: at work, at home, in the family. Here you set the pace and bring whoever matters to you, and you don't have to explain every part of your life before it is heard.
Warmth
Each session starts with care and a chance to settle in.
Plain talk
I explain what we are doing and why, in everyday words.
Your pace
You decide what to talk about and how fast to go.
Privacy
We keep your records private and share them only as the law allows.

What we hold to
Therapy is easier to begin in a room that feels like home: warm, familiar and unhurried.
Warmth
A space that feels like home, not a clinic.
Connection
Talking with someone who listens is where the work starts.
Authenticity
Come as you are, and bring the people who matter to you.

Your first month
What the first month looks like
A gentle way in, with a say for you at every step.
- 01Week 1
Step 1: A short call
A 15-minute call to ask questions and hear how I work. It is not therapy, and you can say no afterward.
- 02Week 1 or 2
Step 2: Your first session
We talk about what is on your mind and who matters to you. I explain how privacy and fees work before we go further.
- 03Weeks 2 and 3
Step 3: Finding a rhythm
We settle into a regular time. You tell me what is helping and what isn't, and I adjust.
- 04Week 4
Step 4: A check-in
We look at how it has felt so far and decide together whether to continue, change the pace or pause.
